Most of our kids here in St. George, UT went back to school this week. This annual event signified the end of summer, and the end of our summer vacation travels. Whether we vacationed at Disneyland, at a resort hotel in nearby Las Vegas, or at one of the beautiful national parks here in southern Utah, the risk of bringing home those pesky bedbugs was always a worry… Or at least it should have been.
Bedbug infestations are increasing at exponential rates—some reports say as much as 75% from this same time last year. The Bedbug Crisis Hotline has increased ten fold in the last 6 months.
Now that our summer vacations have ended, and the kids are back in school, we can start thinking about our holiday travel plans. Many of us will be staying at hotels while visiting friends and family in other parts of the country. Plan on taking a few bedbug precautions before, during, and after your trip so you don’t have any of these bloodsucking hitchhikers come home with you.
